In advance of his Saturday appearance, the hair stylist and consulting makeup artist for L'Oréal Paris chatted with The Record about some beauty do's and don'ts.

There are so many different things, and it's very individual. I think poor application is the biggest mistake.

Dinosaur exhibit is big -- on imagination

Artistic license and scientific data are like T. rex and triceratops — they don't mix well. Still, the creators of "Dinoroarus," the new exhibit at the St. Louis Zoo, had to use their imaginations to create the exhibit's 17 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs.

"There's a lot we know about dinosaurs but a whole lot we don't know," said the Zoo's Louise Bradshaw, who worked with Texas-based Billings Productions to create the moving, roaring dinos. "For instance, fossils don't tell us what color the dinosaurs were. We have a sense of what their skin was made from. We have some concept of what their relationship was to one another. But still there's so much we don't know and what we do know is changing."

Take, for example, the apatosaurus. You may have met this long-necked dinosaur under a different name — brontosaurus.
